Moto Racer and Cookie Shop Coming to Nintendo DS

As games continue to expand and diversify as an industry, new marketing approaches have been developed and one of these are exclusive offerings which seek to make video games a more collectible affair in the way that toys, movies and certain music albums have been in the past. Toys R Us, a US based retail toy and game specialty shop has just announced a deal with game developer South Peak Games to release 2 titles for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming platform: Moto Racer and Cookie Shop. Both titles will be available online or in Toys R Us stores nationwide thanks to a partnership with Nobilis Publishing. Moto Racer DS is a motorcycle racing simulator that offers a more arcade style approach to the racing genre and has already sold more than 7 million copies in its history. The title will include 40 unique tracks and special controls that utilize the stylus of the DS. It features more than 35 bikes that are capable of performing various stunts, will offer 5 unique camera angles and offer multiplayer support for up to 8 gamers via wireless connections.

Cookie Shop, on the other hand, will offer an entirely different gaming experience that relies on ‘cutesy’ characters that resemble the wildly popular Animal Crossing from Nintendo. Its style of gaming will be a loose simulation that allows players to run their own confectionery with various pastries and other offerings to virtual customers. There will be more than 200 recipes and various other additions to help keep the game fun and it offers online compatibility so players can game with friends.
