Additional Back Story for Upcoming Alan Wake Game Offered via Webisodes

It has been nearly 5 years since Microsoft and the Finland based developer Remedy Entertainment first announced a ground breaking new title, Alan Wake, would be coming to the Xbox 360. The game is expected to be, in and of itself, a true game changer that is seeking to bring a lot more of the narrative form experienced in cinemas to gamers around the world. The story is set in a town in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States known as Bright Falls – a fictional setting. The thriller game will leverage a new form of promotion in live action web episodes that gamers can watch free of charge in order to get into the story’s setting in preparation for the release of the title. The web episodes are being shot on location in rural parts of Oregon and Washington state and there will be a total of 6 episodes which act as a prequel to the story featured within the game.

Those reviewers who have gotten an early look into the title as it has developed have reported that it is heavy with atmosphere and reminds one of a combination of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks master work and a tale that world famous author Stephen King might be apt to tell. The game’s setting of Bright Falls is expected to hold many mysteries for players and will be easier to understand once players have gotten a feel for the town by viewing the web series, say many reviewers of the upcoming title.
